£110 including performance, pre-show talk, programme-script and exclusive after-show event with drinks and canapés.

20 years since its explosive Out of Joint premiere, Mark Ravenhill’s iconic debut Shopping and F***ing is back on stage in a new production by the Olivier Award-winning director Sean Holmes. With black humour and bleak philosophy, it follows three disconnected young adults whose lives have been reduced to series of transactions in a world where shopping is sexy and sex is a job.

The evening includes a pre-show talk, a performance of this game-changing play, and an intimate post-show reception with drinks and canapés in the company of writer Mark Ravenhill, the play’s original director Max Stafford-Clark, and Sean Holmes – the director of this revival.

Tickets are limited, cost £110, and include a donation to Out of Joint theatre company.

IN SUPPORT OF OUT OF JOINT: MAKING THEATRE FOR TODAY AND TOMORROW

fairground letters selling out the name "Out of Joint" in front of theatre curtains

Shopping and F***ing was commissioned and first directed by Max Stafford-Clark for the celebrated new writing theatre company Out of Joint, where is Artistic Director. The play started life at the Royal Court’s Theatre Upstairs, and went on to play two hit West End runs, as well as national and international tours.

Shopping and F***ing is just one of three great plays to receive major revivals this Autumn, that were originally produced by Out of Joint: The Libertine by Stephen Jeffreys is currently in the West End starring Dominic Cooper; and Caryl Churchill’s Blue Heart has been produced by the Orange Tree Theatre in Richmond and Bristol’s Tobacco Factory Theatres.

On our blog: Max Stafford-Clark discusses Shopping & Fucking, The Libertine and Blue Heart

Out of Joint continues to discover, develop, produce and tour new plays by successful writers and thrilling new talents, exploring the concerns of our times and broadening horizons. The company collaborates with exciting theatres such as the National Theatre and the Royal Court. It also runs an extensive education programme, encouraging access and participation among a wide range of young people.

Give to Out of Joint, and help make and shape the theatre of the future.
