Join Out of Joint for a fascinating day looking at the seminal Rita, Sue and Bob Too, which we’re touring in a major new production this autumn and winter.

Rita Sue and Bob Too was Andrea Dunbar’s second play, written when she was just 19 – she wrote her first at 15 – and offers a fresh and entirely authentic story of two teenage girls from a Bradford council estate, offered few aspirations or opportunities, and grabbing what excitement they can.

You’ll work with the play’s director, Max Stafford-Clark, who also directed the landmark original 1982 production when he was Artistic Director of the Royal Court Theatre. And with the help of actors from the show you will gain an insight into the rehearsal methods used to create the piece, as well as the extent of research involved within the rehearsal process to create the world of the play. This is an ideal opportunity for all teachers and professionals looking to understand the play in context, the work of Out of Joint and Max Stafford-Clark’s methods. Max Stafford-Clark is currently on the AQA syllabus as a prescribed practitioner.

The day includes a ticket to see Rita, Sue and Bob Too at the Liverpool Playhouse that evening at 5.30pm.
